1. Q:Why doesn't FHSS have levels like other schools?

A: Most significantly, children do not progress at a predetermined rate. They also don't have the same strengths and weaknesses as every other child their age. While levels are necessary for larger schools that have a "one size fits all" program, FHSS aims to be a highly individualized school that develops programs specific to the needs of your child. This proven method is far more efficient as it has the ability to adress the personal hitches each individual child inevitably has.

2. Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A:We ask for at least 24 hours notice if you are unable to attend a lesson. Because our instructors are here for you, we cannot reschedule a "no show" lesson.

3. Q: Can we watch our child's lesson?

A: Absolutely! In fact, we ask you to. Most parents sit by the pool on our lounge chairs and enjoy a home made espresso or iced tea while watching their children swim.

4. Q: I have bounced from one swim school to another and my child still has the same problems in the water he/she had before. Why is FHSS any different?

A: It's a common question! FHSS is designed to be a swim school for you. Our initial assessments incorporate information from the parent as well as the child to help our instructors determine the most effective method to get your child where they want in the water. Different from other schools, we not only have the ability to deal with specific needs, but make it our specific mission to. As you will notice, FHSS invests a significant amount of time and effort into each individual client. From a business perspective, this allows us to build a strong relationship with our clients that will keep them returning for more lessons. From a learning perspective, this is the most efficient and effective way of teaching proper skills. Our goal is not to have a vague relationship with a large clientele. Our goal is to have a strong and personal relationship with you.

5. Q:Why should I invest my child's swim education with FHSS?

A: Teaching children to swim is something that must be done properly the first time. Teaching children incorrectly leads to lasting difficulties, phobias and fears that children take with them for the rest of their lives- such clients make up a significant portion of our community. By teaching children the right way, the first time, they have the ability to continue progressing without having to take backwards steps to address their faults. In the long run, this can save a significant amount of time and money. Do it right the first time- invest in your child's education.

6. Q: My child is new to swimming and I'm worried about him/her. Thoughts?

A: Yes! New swimmers make up much of our clientele- we see them every day. All of our instructors are highly trained and experienced working with new swimmers, both younger and older. From the moment you walk through our doors, a confident instructor will greet you with a handshake and walk you through our program. Most importantly, though, safety is the key aspect in all our lessons. Your child is taken care of and watched closely at every moment of his/ her lesson. Our instructors are knowledgeable of your child's limits, and will stay within them to ensure that a fear of water is not developed. Simply mention to one of our staff that you are new to swimming, and we will happily take care of you.
